Moving aft yet again, we come to Volendam’s Casino. Modest in scale compared to some of the newest megaships, the Casino aboard the Volendam has enough bells and whistles to please those who listen to the siren song of Lady Luck, but remains small enough so as to not be a bother to those who would rather bypass temptation altogether.

  • Got a great discount for my casino play and we were offered Club Orange at half price on our 10 day Southern Carib. So we were very satisfied overall. Koningsdam is a beautiful ship.
  • The ms Koningsdam cruise ship will feature amazing signature spaces that Holland America’s guests have grown to know and love – like the Queen’s Lounge, fitness center, duty-free shops, teak Promenade deck, Explorer’s Lounge and casino – as well as a few new additions.
  • Koningsdam is a beautiful ship however, the service in the main dining and the Lido deck is deplorable. The 'wine stewards' don't have a clue. The meal courses either came one on top of the other or not at all and had to be requested again.

  • All staterooms, showrooms, and most indoor areas are designated non-smoking. Guests are allowed to smoke on stateroom verandahs (Effective in January 2017 smoking will not be allowed on verandahs)
  • Electronic cigarette smoking is permitted inside staterooms
  • Smoking is permitted in designated smoking areas that MAY include: casino (active slots only - Oosterdam and Eurodam casinos are non-smoking)
  • Smoking allowed outside at Sea View (Retreat) Bar/Pool on starboard side.
  • On ms Prinsendam, ms Koningsdam and ms Nieuw Statendam, smoking allowed on the port side. Smoking is never on both sides.
  • Smoking allowed in the Sun Bar on ms Koningsdam and ms Nieuw Statendam.
  • Allowed on Sports Deck forward and aft of Crow's Nest on starboard side on ms Maasdam, ms Veendam, ms Volendam, ms Zaandam, ms Rotterdam and ms Amsterdam, aft of Crow's Nest starboard side.
  • Cigar and pipe smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the ship
  • Only allowed in designated outdoor smoking areas.
