Linus 'LLinusLLove' Loeliger is considered to be one of the most successful online poker players in Sweden. It is unknown how much exactly he has won in his entire career.

Just last year, he has won more than $1 million online and still going strong. Even though he's mainly not a frequent player on the live felt, he couldn't possibly miss this year's juicy action at the Triton Poker series.

On May 2019, LLinusLLove joined the HK$250,000 NLHE Turbo event. He may not have won the event but he still got to finish 3rd place which awarded him HK$1,720,000 ($219,262).

On July 2019, he topped the £25,000 NLHE - 6 Handed Turbo (Event #1) of the Triton Poker SHR London, taking home £690,000 ($840,039), considered to be the biggest cash of his career to date.

On August 2019, still at the Triton Poker SHR London, he finished 3rd place at the £50,000 NLHE - 8 Handed (Event #3) for £594,000 ($720,288).

Thanks to his most recent achievements in the world of live poker, his name sits at the No. 1 spot in the Switzerland All-Time Money List.

During a break in between game sessions, the 25-year-old talked to one of the poker reporters. Check out the video interview below about Loeliger's poker career and how he began from micro-stakes and eventually made his way up to the high-stakes games.

I don't know nothing about this player and i don't remember if i've ever read about him. There is a chance if his nickname from a certain poker room it's revealed but otherwise not. It is not like Isildur1 but if he plays in big stakes and won money, then is a good player.

It’s certainly interesting that Who is Sweden’s most famous player is completely unknown to me, but now I will know this player unless of course I forget him a sufficiently memorable nickname, so most likely the next time I see him somewhere I will remember information about him Of course this player has very cool results.

It just feels like there are a couple dozen no-name swedish players who are playing on high stakes and could 'break out' any time to gain some fame - or at least it reads like this every time a new one out there declare his game to the live circuit.

There are a lot of no name players who play big stakes and we haven't heard from them but that does not mean that they are not reputable players and that they can't make a lot of money. It is a wrong way of thinking, because they are very talented, if they play and win impressive amounts.

I havent heard of this player before, but the sure thing is he is doing really good in
the poker world. Not only online, but from what we can see in live gaming also.
And he is only 25 years old, so he is still young and can move even further.
At least considering from his results so far.

He is not starving that's for sure. No swedish poker player does

Well done Linus. You have made it from being a very unknown online poker player from Sweden to a very well known live poker player from playing at the very lucrative Triton Poker series. It will be interesting to see how Linus gets on at the live tables, as it is very different from line. For me I hope he does extremely well and continues his winning streak and becomes a very well known Swedish poker player.

When we look number of news about poker player, especially younger players, people will how easy is to win lot of money on poker!thats why they take so many ambassadors and team pro members to attract people!but I never heard for this player!
Mober29/08/2019 13:08:43 GMT
They can win big money in poker, but it is not an easy job, to be that successful.
If it was everyone would play poker to make a fortune
But the fact it can be done has drawn so many players so far, and more young
people are trying their luck with it.
Some are doing good, some others may have already quit the game
CALICUL31/08/2019 11:50:01 GMT
It is very difficult to succeed in this industry and that's why young players learn poker strategy, since they are minors. I have come to the conclusion that it is very difficult to win big money, if you do not know how to play poker very well. This chance to make a lot of money is there for everyone if they learn too good.

Conclusion? What? Why this was up to debate in the first place? It's silly, this statement was never in doubt.
CALICUL15/09/2019 10:38:18 GMT
Conclusion is that: You can't make much money from poker if you don't know the strategy. I saw players in live tournaments who participated for the first time and won. This does not mean that they did not know about poker. Or you're talking about something else?

I don't really know him and I didn't hear much from him like others who are a little better known in the poker circuit ... but hey, many start like this without being known and then suddenly they get to know each other, well I don't think so that others think about it because maybe you don't know much about the subject but I always want to leave my opinion

  • »Linus Loeliger Wins Poker Masters For $1.1 Million

Linus Loeliger added to his already glowing reputation by winning the Poker Masters Online Main Event for $1,097,250.

Linus Loeliger Poker

The Swiss grinder start his online poker career in 2013. Loeliger embarked on a bankroll building challenge like many new players do. He started with $150 and played $0.05/$0.10 with the aim of climbing to $0.50/$1 by year-end.

Loeliger posted his plans on the Two Plus Two forums and kept a blog detailing his progress. His later updates were sporadic and Loeliger removed some others, but it’s fair to say he achieved his goal.

He became a regular in the $10/$20 games by 2016, taking shots at $25/$50. A year later, Loeliger could be found playing $200/$400 where he became feared as much as respected.

Cash games were kind to him and he racked up more than $1.5 million in profit. It didn’t take long for high stakes tournaments to come calling.

Loeliger Bursts Onto Super High Roller Tournament Scene

The Swiss star cashed in two tournaments in Malta in 2015. Neither was particularly impressive, but a victory in London was. Loeliger was visiting friends in London when he decided to enter a £2,200 on a whim. £55,650 found its way to Loeliger’s bankroll after he topped a field of 114-entrants.

Loeliger focussed on cash games again for the next three years before jumping in some huge live events. He finished third in a Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in Montenegro for $219,262. Victory in a £25,000 buy-in 6-Max event two months later yielded $840,039. Another $720,288 hit his account a couple of days later.

Loeliger Wins $51,000 Buy-in Online Event

The Poker Masters Online series concluded at partypoker on April 26 with a $51,000 buy-in Main Event. $2 million was guaranteed, but a $3,850,000 prize pool was created thanks to 77 entries.

Some of the world’s best players bought in, which made for an extremely tough event. The likes of Jason Koon, Dario Sammartino, Fedor Holz, and Justin Bonomo busted before the money. As did Isaac Haxton, Sam Greenwood, and Sam Trickett.

Lebanon’s Karim Khayat burst the money bubble when he bust in 11th place. Khayat’s exit locked up at least $154,000 for the 10 surviving players.

Vicent Ramon and Conor Beresford busted in the money, the latter falling in ninth-place this setting the final table.

Star-Studded Final Table Set

Australian superstar Kahle Burns was the final table’s first casualty. Eighth-place weighed in at $163,624. David Peters joined Burns on the rail, doing so with $182,875 in his partypoker account.

Sixth-place and $211,750 went to Elias Talvitie before Ole Schemion crashed out. Schemion got his hands on $269,500.

Then came the exit of Steve O’Dwyer. The Netherlands-based American is more used to playing these stakes in a live setting. O’Dwyer proved he can still mix it up online by claiming the $346,500 fourth-place prize.

Heads-up was set when Chris Kruk fell by the wayside in third place. Kruk saw $519,750 head his way. Imagine winning more than half a million dollars and still being upset. That’s poker.

Loeliger locked horns with Giuseppe Iadisernia, a rich Venezuelan. The battle between old school and new breed ensued but there was only ever going to be one winner. Loeliger was that winner, turning his $51,000 into a colossal $1,097,250. Iadisernia collected $750,750 for his impressive second-place finish.

We’d like to say that completes Loeliger’s journey, but there is surely more to come from the young Swiss star. It’s amazing to think he was playing $0.05/$0.10 cash games only seven years ago. Now he’s winning $1.1 million prizes. Amazing.
